When the STAND 2.0 content was ready, we realized we needed to start training our coaches on that content right away. And furthermore, since we were planning to offer helping hands and coaches through future programs open to the public, we recognized we needed more coaches. Thus, in Spring 2020, we began recruiting approximately 200 people into the STAND coaching program. Given COVID-19, all training sessions are to be conducted remotely.
STAND coaching is part of the STAND system of care and is a key strategy for making treatments more accessible. In our STAND implementations, certified STAND coaches support the digital program by helping participants review and practice skills and strategies. Research has shown that when digital programs are supported with coaching, participant success and engagement increases.
