Jonathan Flint receives distinction from the Royal Society of London

UCLA announced that Jonathan Flint; UCLA behavioral geneticist, expert in the genetic determinants of depression and Depression Grand Challenge Executive Committee team member; was named to the Royal Society of London for his work to uncover the genetic determinants of depression. Dr. Flint was the first to discover specific genes that increase the risk for major depression and joined the Depression Grand Challenge’s efforts in 2016.

The Royal Society was founded in 1660 and features members such as Charles Darwin and Stephen Hawking. Dr. Flint is among 51 scientists named as a fellow of the Royal Society in 2019.
