Findings from open trial of STAND system of care among UCLA students published in JMIR Mental Health

Findings from an open trial of the STAND system of care were published in the journal JMIR Mental Health on July 24, 2023. UCLA STAND ALACRITY Center Co-Director Kate Wolitzky-Taylor, PhD, is the paper’s lead author; several other DGC-affiliated researchers contributed.

The paper details findings from an open trial of the STAND system of care that recruited, screened and triaged UCLA students in Fall 2017 through Spring 2020, screening nearly 5,000 students and treating 516. Depression and anxiety symptom severity were reduced for participants in all three tiers of treatment within the STAND system of care, and suicide risk also improved in the highest tier (i.e., clinical care).
