STAND system of care earns mention on CBS News Los Angeles

In an Oct. 24, 2025, segment of CBS News Los Angeles, the UCLA Depression Grand Challenge’s STAND system of care was highlighted as an innovative example of digital mental health programs tailored to college students.

DGC-affiliated researcher Daniel Eisenberg, PhD, was interviewed to discuss new findings from the Healthy Minds Study, a long-running national survey on the mental health of college students. He highlighted STAND and its digital approach as a positive example of a program improving college students’ access to mental health resources, especially during a shift toward digital care options.

Eisenberg is a professor at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health and a principal investigator of the Healthy Minds Network, which administers the national Healthy Minds Study and advances research on the mental health of college students through the development and testing of innovative programs and interventions. He also serves as co-investigator for the UCLA STAND ALACRITY Center’s Methods Core, which supports Center research through methodological and implementation expertise.
